HEALTH AID AND REMEDIES

A complete home is one that is well equipped to deal with any unexpected emergencies. One usually sees that homes where a family member suffers from problems like asthma and diabetes are ready for any kind of health emergency. But the fact is that ill health and injuries can affect anyone at any time. It is certainly advisable to stock up basic health aids and home remedies.

The best thing to do is make a first-aid box containing health aids and remedies. This could be basic medical products that are safe to administer without a prescription. These medicines are easily available across the counter and include tablets and syrups for headaches, acidity, common cough and cold, body aches and pains and sudden allergies. These are minor ailments that require one tablet or maybe a spoon of the syrup and some sleep.

Apart from these medicines you should keep bandages, antiseptic lotions and creams at hand. This is so that in case of an injury the wound can be cleaned and wound up immediately, preventing any sort of infection. In case of bruises an ice pack always comes in handy. Sprays and ointments that relax tense muscles or sprained wrists and ankles is another product that is needed in almost every household.

Apart from the basic health aids and remedies, one must take extra care when they have a patient suffering from ailments such as asthma and diabetes. Firstly, every family member should be aware of the high-risk situations that these patients may get into and what kind of remedies they require. For instance, insulin dependent diabetics tend to go into the state of hypoglycemia when their sugar levels drop below normal. In such a situation the patient should be given something sweet to eat or drink, but no sugar.
